In recent years, the robotics industry has developed vigorously. Under the influence of the "epidemic", many service robots have quickly appeared in public views, such as delivery robots and disinfection robots. Contactless services have made the public aware that artificial intelligence is entering all aspects of our lives and work. The emergence of this situation is indispensable to the revolution of charging facilities of artificial intelligence technology-the maturity and popularization of long-distance wireless charging technology.

Wireless charging for mobile robot

Wireless charging technology will become the best way to charge mobile robots!

When mobile robots, such as inspection robots, AGVs, AMRs, unmanned delivery vehicles, etc., are used outdoors in batches, wireless charging becomes the best choice.

Traditional charging methods can be generally divided into the following three types: manual servo charging; contact charging; manual battery replacement, etc.

(1) Manual servo charging has many problems. Personnel maintenance costs are high, and efficiency is low, the product affects the aesthetics, and even affects the freedom of equipment.

2) Contact charging is not safe. The charging requirements of mobile robots generally range from tens of watts to thousands of watts. Unlike sweeping robots that do not consider waterproof safety within 30 watts, contact-based DC power supply often generates sparks or even arcs due to currents of 5A, 10A, 15A, or higher. On the other hand, in long-term use, the poor contact of the contacts has also been criticized. Relatively low-power laptops often spark when plugged in, not to mention mobile robots.

(3) Manual power replacement is not economical. The battery can indeed be replaced by replacing the battery, but the replaced battery still needs to be charged, and the latter inevitably adopts the above-mentioned manual or contact methods. This makes the whole solution not as simple as imagined, unsafe, and uneconomical.

Besides, taking into account various environmental factors such as rain, snow, freezing, power lines, coal mines, oil pipelines, harmful gases, etc., make unmanned inspection robots and logistics distribution vehicles suitable for outdoor work the best equipment, and wireless charging has also become the best equipment. The inevitable choice for field applications.
